The Ink Spills

The Ink Spills (From my pen) J.F.X. Eckert

Not long ago in my hurried youth
Always searching for something new.
The future seemed too far to reach,
I never thought that's what I'd be.

And I wonder If I ever cared.
And I wonder if I'm still there.

I messed with love and I messed with time,
I messed with things that messed up my mind.
Gave my heart every once and a while,
But happiness only made me tired.

It makes me wonder If I ever cared.
And I wonder If I'm still there.

(Chorus)
I feel the same inside as I did back then,
But now I'm paying the price as the ink spills from my pen.

I played the fool and I played the clown,
Set myself up to be put down.
That arrogance always got me through,
You never knew that I needed you.

And I wonder If I ever cared.
And I wonder if I'm still there
.And I wonder If I ever cared.
And I wonder if I'm still there.
