Highway 42

Highway 42 Eckert, Atzburger, Malinky

It's all been picture perfect I must be in a dream,
Something has been missing and it isn't what it seems.
All day long I try to make somebody care
I'm stuck inside myself and I seem to go nowhere.

Lying in the corner waiting for my soul to bleed.

I look into the sky and the wind it drives me wild.
If I had that kind of power, I wouldn't be a child.

Standing on the hard road tryin' to join the human race.
People on the back roads don't even know my face
I'm crying…I'm dying

Now the picture has been faded and the lights are growing dim.
He's standing right beside you and he's always looking in.
His face is made of plaster and his name is etched in stone.
With all those years of stories, He won't leave you alone.

Lying in the corner waiting for my soul to bleed.

I look into the sky and the wind it drives me wild.
If I had that kind of power, I wouldn't be a child.

Standing on the hard road tryin' to join the human race.
People on the back roads don't remember his face
He's dying….I'm crying

The riff to this song was written by Atzy and he asked me to finish it. James Dean died on highway 42 and so I figured I would run with it. Dean was someone who influenced anyone who ever rebelled even for a minute. So Highway 42 is about James Dean.
